GETTING STARTED

Create your first budget in 15 minutes

Walk through the 12-step wizard from income entry to fully-allocated plan.

4 min read

Payday Audit uses a 12-step guided wizard. The first time through takes about 15 minutes. After that, most people roll over their previous budget and tweak what changed — 2 minutes tops.

Before you start

  • Your net take-home income amount and how often you're paid.
  • Any debts with their balances, interest rates, and minimum payments.
  • Rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, transportation costs.
  • Emergency fund balance and your savings goal.

The flow

The wizard walks you through your money in priority order: survive (debt minimums + shelter + transport + food) → protect (safety net + retirement match) → grow (extra debt paydown + investments) → enjoy (guilt-free spending). Hitting $0 remaining means every dollar has a job.

Tip

Don't have every number memorised? You can save and come back. Your progress is auto-saved to the cloud.
